RaSP Family Fun day 2026

Message of thanks from Chief Superintendent Richard Smith - OCU Commander RaSP

“Royalty and Specialist Protection hosted their annual Family Fun Day on the May Bank Holiday weekend. It was a sweltering hot day at Imber Court and the MPS Choir were the headline entertainment for the afternoon. It was absolutely brilliant to hear their musical talents in such an idyllic summer setting. Officers and staff brought their friends and family to the event – taking part in the raffle, eating amazing food from the BBQ and enjoying well-deserved cold drinks from the bar! The motorbikes from the Special Escort Group were a particular favourite for many of the children. The MPS Choir were absolutely fantastic. We are just so lucky that this group of talented colleagues give up their time to rehearse and perform – they are an outstanding group and a real credit to the Met. As one elderly, retired officer said to me: “aren’t they great, they should be on Britain’s Got Talent!” which I thought was a lovely sentiment that summarised it perfectly!”
